North-South Skirmish Association "Camp of Instruction"

We will be hosting a "Camp of Instruction" July 20th, 2024, at Brierfield Ironworks State Park in Brierfield, Alabama. We will be teaching how to shoot muzzleloading rifles of the era of the American Civil War, to recruit new shooters to the North-South Skirmish Association.

If you're interested in shooting Civil War era weapons in a competitive setting you should definitely make it out there! It's hard to have more fun than shooting muskets in a team competition

As a person who just joined the N-SSA last fall, and just completed my first full Nationals at Fort Shenandoah last weekend, I would highly recommend folks take advantage of this event/offer.

We are approaching our maximum limit of pre-registered folks, so only a few spots are left. If you are interested or know someone who is, please pass the information along.

Also, you must be at least 14 years old to participate.

There is no other type of muzzleloading shooting that can equal a N-SSA skirmish for excitement. You'll find out that you can mow down targets while taking your time, but get a clock running with your score based on time, and we'll see just how thing go........

We had a great time last weekend at our Camp of Instruction! It rained in the morning before the event, but by the time we got shooting it has mostly faded out. We had 24 people pre-registered the day of, and of those, 13 folks showed up. Of those, 6 signed up as new members on our team!
