I would love to get together with an existing club, if there is one, or start one in this part of the state. I know there seems to be an abundance of blackpowder enthusiasts in this part of the state.

If you know of a club, or would like to get together to start one...please let me know.

Not sure if this is the right forum...so if it isn't, please move it to the correct one....thanks.

Hi Bob,

I live up in Mountain Top and am facing the same issue. Factoryville sportsman club has a muzzle loader shoot the second Sunday of the month. It is a trail walk with about 19 shots at ranges from 20 something to about 85 or so. Check the web page "WWW.fsc.org" I think, for details and contact information. My job has me working every other weekend so I miss most of the shoots there, other than that there are no really close M/L clubs that I know about. Perhaps we can get something going here.

I have heard of the Factoryville shoots. Sounds fun but I really wish there was something closer. I am at the range at SGL206 in Sweet Valley quite a bit. Maybe if we get enough people we could do a get together there on a regular basis. It has ranges from 25 yards to 100 yards.

Anyone else interested??

Hi, There is a woods walk tomorrow Feb 3 at Boyertown rod and gun club done by the Boyertown Muzzleloaders.
It is a 30-35 shot event. Great guys and loads of fun. The club has a large property and the walk is well planned and the targets range from easy to well I'll just say I am lucky to hit some of them. The evwent is so well run you go out in small groups. I(n January there were I think about 40-45 shooters broken up into groups of 7 or 8 with each group starting in a different part of the club property.
Some guys come in costume and some do not. All shooting is with traduitional muzzleloaders - no inlines, no scopes.
Needless to say I plan onn being there tomorrow. The shoot starts at 8 AM. The cost is $5 and it is a blanket shoot so if you wish you can bring a prize valued at $10 but you do not have to.
My wife and daughter came with me to last months shoot and were made welcome. It was our first time at Boyertown. This Boyertown club is some fine group of people and now we are considering joining the club.
Oh yeah after the shoot there is food, good food at the club house.
The address is Boyertown Rod & Gun Club
295 Sunset Hill Road, Boyertown PA. A contact phone # James or Garry Corsetti is 215 256-9319
See you there tomorrow, I will be wearing a hat with a wolfs face on it and shooting a 1803 Harpers Ferry or a TC Hawken with blackend brass. Come and make some smoke and be back home in time for the Super Bowl.

Bowmanstown R&G Club shoots 2nd Sunday near Lehighton.

Garage Rats Archery and Blackpowder club shoots 4th Sunday near Brodheadsville.

Troy Rod & Gun Club has a few shoots per year near Troy.

If those are near you and you want a POC send me a PM and I'll send you a name and phone number.

Wish I didn't have to work Sunday, the Boyertown shoot sounds like my idea of a great time.
