Not enough actuation in T/C Hawken hammer?

Two T/C Hawkens below...

Top one is my .54 (like new condition, just picked it up).
The bottom one is my trusty .50 (a little less new...haha)

Both are at full cock.

The .54 hammer functions properly, but it's travel is far less than the .50. At half cock, I can't slip a cap on with any of my cappers. My .50 hammer, as you can see, actuates far more than the .54.

Is the travel on a T/C hammer adjustable? If so, how does one increase it?

I have two TCs one I can cap at half cock, one I can't, never thought much about it.

What you can try is swap the hammer from one rifle to the other and see if that makes the change you require. If that works you can then search for the hammer you need.

I can't easily cap either of my muskets at half cock. Never considered it an issue. Not worth disturbing guns that are working just fine otherwise.
