Too et all;
The 10 pages of this topic is sad, all this sniveling and blame about government and corporate not giving us what we want,
Waa.Waa.waa.
We can't do it because,,,(waa,)
Well that's the problem,, all the crier's forgot how to be an American.
We as a culture have forgotten how to not be served everything on a silver platter, everything at your convenience,, without that they're lost,,
Sad.
Well speck your all fixed with plenty on hand. I did not see the Gov. act of helping the covid spread all through North America. I am not crying about the shortage, it just came. I do know how to make Lemonade from lemons ! I us couple of adapters oh shame on me right! Naw i just used what i had to make do. I may have couple thousand center fire primers i can get by with. Have another 1000 209's. i will just get more primers for about same price as caps but hotter so it will fire. I also have about 5 dz flints for my 2 rock sparkers.

May I ask where you bought the Musket Nipple at?
I assume this is for the 4 wing Musket Caps, right?

Sorry if it seems a bit lame of a question but when
your new that's the way it goes!
I bought a Thompson Center original Musket Cap and Number 11 Cap from The Gun Works online. You can probably find a cheaper version but I chose to spend a little more for the T/C versions of both.

https://www.thegunworks.com/custprodgun.cfm?ProductID=533&do=detail&Cat2Option=yes
another less expensive option:

https://www.thegunworks.com/custprodgun.cfm?ProductID=393&do=detail&Cat2Option=yes
Outstanding customer service from Suzi Williams and her staff, no doubt. The shipping rates seem high at first, but they only charged me about half for postage from what was quoted.

Good Luck!

Got my order today from KY Gun Co. $10.99 per tin and no hazmat fee. Shipping is a flat 11.99 fee and insurance is $2.00. 😁

Wow, simply Wow.

Due to this thread, myself, as well as others, were able to stock up on caps. Those nice little things that has always been available to us, most everywhere we went, for low price, for most of our lives. We have also found there are alternatives.

I am thankful for that.

Part of the reason I bought some this week, not that I need them as we always do but is to ensure our group of shooters can continue to shoot. Our club bought almost 40 pounds of bp for folks and had 10 pounds of inventory for members when they might need it to shoot in our matches. We did the same with caps, bought a 1,000 before stuff dried up. Most has been sold. Bought powder for $27, caps for $12. Sold for $30 and $15. Club had a bit for the kitty to buy some steel targets, everyone kept shooting and the funds were put back to use for the member benefit. Everyone was happy with the process. Several members bring extra powder and caps just in case folks need some. We do not gouge each other price wise. The BP community is a great group of folks and we juat do a little bit to keep it that way down here.

Sportsman's Warehouse, Silverdale WA, showed them in stock about a week ago $5.99 a tin but limited customers to two.

For me this would have been about a 60 mile round trip drive plus bridge fare, obviously not worth it. The point though is if Sportsman's can sell them for $5.99 are we being held hostage by scalpers? I'd take note of who's overcharging and not do business with them if it can be helped. I know that when we were being ripped off on powder and .22 rimfire cartridges I made mental note of who was taking advantage of the drought and I won't buy anything from them if I can help it.

We could always go back to discussing blowing down the barrel I suppose.🥱

This has been talked about before, but about a year and half ago Bass Pro tried to buy Sportsman’s Warehouse. Thank goodness the deal was ruled illegal. Sportsman’s is a good place to shop.

Yep, I have a Cabelas, Bass Pro Shop, and Sportsman's Warehouse located close by to me in the metro Phoenix area. I always go to Sportsman's Warehouse.
Be Safe,

Midway has Speer .454 round balls for $6 per 100 on Clearance right now

Even with shipping I got 1000 .454 balls for 90 bucks. You won't beat that anywhere

What good are all those caps without balls to shoot out of those cap and ballers? 😀

But it goes Boom! right?
You have to wet the 209 with your lip before loading it, to make "steam " to keep them loose after firing

Even if I didn't do that , the CCI brand 209s didn't get sticky until round 40something and I had to pop them out with my fingernail . Winchesters get very sticky

The adapters aren't designed for prolonged range sessions, more for hunting but Boom is Boom and when I see the Cost of 30-06 or even .223 , shooting my .58 rifle with 777 and 209 primers is the better deal
