I found an old tube of Maxi Lube no.7305 at my Dads house. Is this stuff still good? It is still soft and can this be used to lube a patched RB. I am thinking that it is an earlier version of NL 1000. What do yall think?

I still have a old tube, don't know how old it is? I think from the 80's. Stil good. They don't make it any more. Dilly

Maxi-Lube is a very old version of conical lube for TC's Maxi-Hunter & Maxi-Ball conicals...and if I'm not mistaken it was actually a petroleum based lube.

Then it was discontinued / replaced by Natural Lube 1000, a non-petroleum based lube.

I used to use it on my patches. Other than being pretty messy at times it was an excellent lube for PRB. I squirted some onto a strip of ticking and smear it evenly onto the material. You don't have to put it on too heavily. Then roll the strip up to store it. When you need it and unroll it, especially in warm weather, the lube has saturated the patch. I wish they still made it. It also makes a good Minie lube, at least if you're lubing at the range. Like I said, it's messy. By the time I finished up my stock of it, it was no longer available.

I bought a case of a dozen tubes off EBay 2-3 years ago not realizing it was different from NL1000...a memeber here from England (Mike????) preferred it so he took it off my hands

if they don't make it anymore ,maybe it wasn't any good to begin with.
i tried it when it came out, found spit was better.
just for what it's worth

I killed over half doz. deer with it on max-balls and hunters. No problem. TC don't just make a product and send it to market without testing. I don't shoot the maxis now, but if I was, I would get it out. They probualy found out their was something better. They didn't get where they are by being slip-shoddy. Dilly
