If you had to choose one muzzleloading long gun and one handgun for all of your firearms needs, including hunting and defense, what would they be? Thanks

Jukar .45 Kentucky and its Uberti .45 Dragoon companion.

They both take a Lee .452 cast bullet.

Wheel weights + 3% Tin.

An (unmentional) and a (unmentional) and plenty of unmentional ammo.
In the absence of that I suppose a Smith carbine and a short barreled Rem 44. with a spare loaded cylinder.

If to be bp related, 40 cal flinter and 36 navy shooting 380 roundball. Flinter could be percussion but want to save caps for pistol. If it has to both be single shot, 50 cal flint rifle, 50 percussion pistol, both shoot 480 for ease of loading and 3f. Mix could be 45 or 54 as well. Got it covered.

No it isn't. I specified "muzzleloading" firearms and this is a muzzleloading forum. Not correct at all.
It could be correct legally, just not ethically to your question... One of those tricky "Moral wrong, legal right" type answers.

To answer ethically myself,
.58 caliber 1861 paired with a Colt 1851 .44. Though part of me wants to say a Hawken, but I love the long barrel on the 1861s

Almost every use or scenario of the firearms is kind of personal preference. But you threw in the word "defense".That requires some thinking and possibly an exit from Muzzleloaders. But, maybe, I'd still go with my ASM .44 Navy and even though I prefer the .50 I'm more accurate with the .45.
