This is a unique recreation of a Brown Bess smoothbore flintlock musket, modified to represent one that might have been used by a Northern Plains Native American. Wrapped in a faux rawhide repair and adorned with brass tacks, it evokes the style of fur trade-era Native arms.

The lock is stamped with a British Crown and “GR” below. The gun began as a 1970s Lyman Brown Bess (Middlefield, Conn.), marked on the barrel, and was originally produced for the United States Bicentennial (April 1, 1975 – July 4, 1976).

Key Features:

• Caliber: .75 smoothbore
• Barrel: Shortened to 30.5”
• Overall Length: 46.5”
• Stock: Darkened, sound, and solid
• Lock: Functions well with excellent spark. Frizzen shows very little use.
• Condition: Artfully and appropriately modified for the look of a fur trade-era firearm.

This Brown Bess is ready for use with either shot or ball and would make a standout addition to any collection or a perfect piece for re-enactments. Includes Tanner .715” mold (handles not included).

I’m asking $1,450 (shipped) for this fine firearm. I accept most forms of payment. Please contact me with any questions or concerns!
