Options for raising the front sight?

Howdy, I hope everyone is doing well.
I finally got the tang sight on my Whitworth. It’s an MVA midrange Sharps. It’s not really ideal for the stock profile but it‘s what I have for the time being.

As I expected it would, it shoots high at 100 meters (very high..about 8 feet!) and the sight is on the lowest position. So I need to raise the front sight about 1.25 inches.

Pedersoli sells dovetailed rising blocks. Those are probably the simplest way but they are damned overpriced (AU$55.00 each) and will look butt-ugly. There is a gentleman with a YouTube channel “dungspreader”, where he shows this exact setup on a Whitworth. Whilst it did indeed give him the results it looked dreadful on a beautiful rifle.

I asked a machinist about making a riser block for it but he is too backlogged with other jobs and wasn’t keen on doing it anyway.

Has anyone ever come up with an affordable and effective solution for themselves?

The tang sight is generally NOT employed for distances closer than 200 yards..
You don't need a ridiculously tall front sight, you just need to move yor target back.

A 1.25" tall front sight is very unusual. Don't take in woods or you will knock it, for sure. With a little time and file work you can make your own.

Can you move the tang sight further to the rear?

I fear you will run out of adjustment on your tang sight to shoot further than 6-700 yards if you choose to use a front sight which is 1.25" tall.
On both my Whitworth and Volunteer rifles I changed the as-issued front sights to globe sights without the Pedersoli base extension. I use the as-issued rear sight to 300yds. Further than 300 I raise the tang and allow it to do its work. I should also note that the a-issued rear sight is set at the 200yd setting for 100yd impact. The globe sight I choose to use is about a1/4 to 5/16th of a inch taller than the as-issued front sight at the center line.
Most of the long range matches I've been reviewing start at 600yds and out.
If you try the Pedersoli riser you may very well have to recut the dovetail either on the base or the rifle.

Hi Kno-ie, good to hear from you. And thanks to everyone for your consideration.
I just learned Lyman makes a tunnel front sight .854” high. That in conjunction with a Pedersoli sight riser base would get me close. No way will I cut into my barrel dovetail so I would be adjusting the new sight base.

Can you move the tang sight further to the rear?

It’s as far back as it will go and still allow me to grip the stock wrist when firing.

So far I’m into this project for very little money ($95 for a new sight base) so I have nothing to complain or stress about.
One of the reasons I thought to use the diopter tang sight was to give me a better sight picture at closer distances. My ageing eyes just can’t draw a fine enough bead anymore with the issued military sight. However occasionally my thinking is wrong
