Hi all
I ordered an Isaac Haines from Jim Chambers today. It's a 54 and I ordered a 20g smooth bore barrel with it. Didn't know you could get 2 barrels with one of his kits. I'm all a flutter, goin to be a long 4 to 8 weeks waiting on it.

I have one assembled by James Klein in 2000. It is my favorite rifle, handles like a dream. The 54 barrel on my rifle is pinned to the stock. There is no fast, easy way to change barrels. Maybe someone else knows more, but I have not ever heard of interchagable barrels on a Jim Chambers kit.

I read on the Chambers site that they have interchangeable smoothbore barrels for their rifles. I called today and asked about it and they verified it. It's not something that I would want to do all the time because of wear and tear on the stock and all but I think it would be great to be able to. Don't know for sure how it'll all work out but I'm goin to give it a whirl!

You have ordered probably the best quality kit around. Just remember the finished product is only as good as the assembler's care and skill. Jim and Barbie stand behind their products. Best of luck. BJH

BTW To answer another fellow's post. Sure the barrels will be pinned in but a second barrel can be fitted with reasonable care. The underlugs in the barrel should be slotted any way. And it would be a realitively simple matter to fit them up.
