Thanks guys. My first ever flintlock and it was a pretty cool experience. I'm very pleased with this rifle overall. Been shooting caplock muzzleloaders for as long as I can remember but this was sure a different experience. Can't believe it took me this long

Very accurate and Reliable. Any accuracy problems I may encounter, are strictly due to the loose nut behind the Butt plate.

Thank you for the link to a great post! You have a fine rifle. I thought the color of the stock was particularly attractive. Was that TVM's "brown", as opposed to a "dark brown" stain?

I have a TVM Early Virginia half octagon Long Hammock .54 barrel, have had it seven years now I love, the deer hate it. Good luck with the new rifle.

Thank you for the encouraging words, rr11. I'm really looking forward to receiving my new rifle. Your Early Virginia sounds like a real honey!

Not sure if it is "Brown" or what,I told them I wanted a fairly light colored stock.Though you can't really see it, the stock has a lot of figure to it.

Thanks, Dewey! Very nice! The butt of your stock has some really nice figure in it. I hope she's a shooter!

majg1234, I thought it was another custom touch! It seemed to be a good bit lighter than Matt's typical, "dark brown". I DID notice the figure in your stock, admired it, and felt that the lighter than usual stain showed it to good advantage. Yup, she's a pretty one! Thank you.

Good luck with yours,I've got 2 TVM rifles and am pleased with both. The 40Cal SMTN I got off Gunbroker unfired,Shes very accurate too.The Early Va was more or less custom built to my LOP with lock, sights ,stock color, and barrel, to my specifications.
