This just keeps getting better. I field stripped the 58 Rem today. The bore is fantastic. There is minimal wear on the cylinder back. Really hard to believe it’s 160 years young. The serial numbers match. It even has the original brass washer for the grip screw. Here's the best part, I see the military cartouche. Build date is Aug or Sept 1864. I’m pretty excited right now.
