Many thanks to all those interested in this fine fowling piece, but it is sold pending receipt of funds.
This beautiful 12-gauge fowler was made by the renowned Henry Nock around 1790, when George Washington was serving his first term, Mad King George III was King of Great Britain, and the unfortunate Louis XVI was “King of the French”.
The 32” long Damascus barrel is cylinder bored. The beautiful walnut stock features tasteful checkering, and does have a small check on the right side of the forend behind the iron nosecap. The iron buttplate and triggerguard feature elegant engraving. The original ramrod has a covered wad puller with a Damascus tip to match the barrel.
The gun is very light, at under 6 pounds, with a 14” length of pull. I’ve harvested numerous pheasants and other game birds with it and find the ignition to be fast and reliable. Attractively priced at $7,993.00, plus actual insured shipping costs.
