All listed are good choices. The only ones that come immediatly to mind that I didn't see on the list are "The Mission", (think "Black Robe" in South America), and Charlie Chaplin's "The Gold Rush". Gold Rush is not exactly a black powder movie, but does have scenes of miners crossing that deadly pass in Alaska and great saloon scenes.

I was watching the old Gary Cooper flick "Unconquered" last night. I love that movie!
This time I noticed that when Capt. Christopher Holden (Cooper) is heading out to rescue Abby from that rascal Martin Garth, he asks his buddy John Fraser for ball and powder. Fraser hands him a horn and 4 loading blocks! Each block looks to have 6 patched balls, for a total of 24 rounds. I found it interesting as I don't recall ever seeing loading blocks and patched balls detailed in those old movies. But there they are...looks like they came from TOTW!
"Unconquered" is the 1947 Cecil B. DeMille epic. Ya just gotta love Boris Karloff as Chief Guyasuta!! And Cooper's incessant quick-draw with flint pistols is simply too cool. :)

On another note....I was watching a couple more episodes of the TV series "Northwest Passage" last Sunday. And who should burst onto the screen with flintlock musket in hand? Doctor Leonard McCoy...Bones....the Star Trek surgeon.
DeForest Kelley was in a lot of westerns. But it was cool to see him in the NWP series around 1958. Although I notice he was uncredited for the role. Odd, since he was one of the main characters in that episode. He shoots Major Rogers with a phaser set for stun, then gets beamed-up in the end.:)
