well took my daughter out to the range today and we had a blast (pun intended) put about 50 rnds thru my brand new GPR. and she performed nicely!
the first couple of pics are of my daughter and i. the last one is my buddy ben shooting my GPR.

just noticed the powder horn on the bench , under the frizzen. wow, really dangerous to all near by. please keep all powder behind the line. one mistake can ruin your life.

I think it is great to have your daughter interested in shooting muzzle loaders. I would, however, like to point out a serious safety violation that appears in your photos. You daughter is shooting right over the top of a powder horn that could catch a spark and explode, especially when shooting a flintlock. Shooting over a loading bench is the standard method for modern shooters, but most people who shoot muzzleloaders place the bench behind themselves and turn around to shoot. If you must shoot over the loading bench then use a bench that is a couple of benches down from where you are going to shoot to actually load the guns.

thanks for passing on the tradition! each one of us who gets his or her kids involved in shooting sports makes it that much harder for the HCI types to fill thier agenda
