Not really. First of all, there is no Federal "registration" requirement. You can build your own cartridge handgun for your own personal use without "registering" it with anyone. What you can't do is build it and then either sell or give it to anyone without first acquiring a tax license.

It is legal to buy a cap and ball revolver, then buy a cartridge conversion cylinder and install and shoot it. You cannot sell the modified gun, however. You can sell the gun with the original c&b cylinder installed and then sell the cylinder separately. They cannot be sent to the same buyer in the same package, however.

Correct unless it's changed since I use to make my own Mac 11's till they killed the open bolt. Fred :hatsoff:
 
tac can you still get "anything - grenades,silencers, ect at "fle markets n BLG like many years ago? Fred :hatsoff: ( about went crazy when I saw some of that good stuff :rotf: like a Maxim ( about 1900 mod for 22 cal )silencer for $15.
 
My dear friend there will be a time when the BUREAU of ALCOHOL, TOBACCO FIRE ARMES BATF will not be and are not your friends like the UK and some others country were THERE rights are gone and what ever you can put together will be what you will have to protect your self so flying under the radar is something to consider you could consider it as a experimental project :grin: :thumbsup:
