Maybe I am just naive, but can someone explain why you have to buy the PA muzzleloader stamp before Nov. 13 when the season doesn't come in until Dec 17? I only asking because I just bought a flintlock and now I can't use it this year. Interestingly, there is not a deadline for archery, small game or the regular rifle season.

I think you have your days mixed up? Check again. Not sure of the Nov. 17 thing, but Muzzleloader does not come in until the day after Christmas. The deadline USED to be back in August, before the doe apps. went in, I thought they did away with the deadline all together??

Yeah that date is Dec 27 not the 17. I can't type. Your right about the previous Aug date. I too thought they did away with the deadline. Just doesn'y make sense to me considering how many hunters get a muzzleloader for xmas.

I'm not sure why the ML stamp has a cutoff date. But you can use your flintlock during the regular firearms season.

The November cutoff was changed last year. It did used to be August, but the PGC extended it to Novemeber. The reason is to ensure that not too many deer are killed during the flintlock season.
You can still use your new gun during the regular firearms season for deer. That's what I do. Hope this helps. Rick
