Well, today was the first time I was able to get out for deer in the great state of PA. It was a great day with the weather perfect and the setting sun going from riverlets of gold to oceans of fire. But the whole time I was out there I could not help but think of the upcoming muzzleloader primative season that starts the day after Christmas. Hurry up Christmas!! BTW - did not get a deer but who cares?

I hope you get a Pa deer.
My wife and I moved back to Pa last year after 6 years in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
I shot my first muzzle loader deer in January 06 during the late flint lock season in Susquhenna County.
I'm new to black powder shootoing and hunting and really like the late season.
I've also used my flint lock in the special regulations season in 5c instead of shooting a shot gun.
If you have a doe license for a special regs WMU you have a even more hunting opertunities.
Good luck and have fun.

I too am anxious for the primitive season. After a couple years of wanting a flintlock, i finally bought one this year and look forward to going down to PA. I'm from NY Chautauqua county.

Good hunting then! I am about to head to the range in a few hours. I noticed that the rear sight on my GPR was loose and had to restake it. This, naturally, was just after I had sighted it in for the upcoming season. I am hear in Chester County, PA, but I do all my hunting in Berks / lancaster and points north. Except for woodchucks - this I do in Chester Co.
