I am thinking of building a Chambers Early York Pennsylvania Rifle Ca 1770-1780 and am wondering what would be a correct period and York style brass patchbox to use. Also where can that item be commercially purchased.

I believe that the reason most people buy a kit is so that all of the componants will be available when the kit arrives. If you are buying a Chambers York Rifle the patchbox will come with the Kit.
