How do you carry your patches in your pouch.? I have a couple small ball bags, but have always used a small ziplock bag. Just wondered how most of you carry them or what you carry them in...Thanks, Scott

Loose sq cut patches with some balls in the bottom of the bag.

I use prelubed patches, and carry them in an old cap tin. Holds more than enough for a day afield.

stick your old cap tins in the barbecue and when the paint burns off you have some readymade "antiqued" patch tins, at least for 50--54 or so. Good smoke, Ron

I cut at the muzzle,,I'm used to it so it don't take very long. A short roll of ticking, the end in yer mouth,,get wet and shove it home!! No grit,,no grease.

I carry mine in cute little wooden containers I bought at TOW or Dixie for a buck or two each. Keeps the lube from getting all over stuff in the bag.

I have a bullet bag which has a small pocket on the outside for patches. I prelube them and keep them in there while hunting or on the range. I put them in a tin at the end of the day if I don't shoot them all, since they tend to dry out otherwise.

I use a loading block which already has them in when allowed for shooting patches, I have a "belt pouch" with small compartments for patches, caps ,flints, ball puller, and balls. For cleaning pathes I use a strip of cloth with small notches cut every inch and 1/2 to rip off. Also I have a small empty film canister in my shooting bag with alcohol soaked patches for winter cleaning , or wiping the frizzen when shooting flints.

This might be surprising to some, but I actually keep 4 to 5 prelubed patches in my patchbox when I'm hunting. Also same amount of round balls in my pocket, and charge and prime (3f) in a small horn. This worked well for me the last couple of outings. others mileage may vary.

I just bought some patches and I'm glad you asked. I found some old tobacco tins (velvet brand pipe tobacco) I have seen a lot of them at junk shops. holds 100 .457 balls, probably pretty air-tight for lubed patches.

Imagine that--using the patch box. That's an idea! I've wondered how many people actually used the patch box. I've thought about it but never have.
