How do you carry your patches in your pouch.? I have a couple small ball bags, but have always used a small ziplock bag. Just wondered how most of you carry them or what you carry them in...Thanks, Scott

One of three ways (I usually have all three in the bag).

A six foot by 1-1/2" roll of unlubed cotton.

A six foot by 1-1/2" roll of lubed & dried cotton in a small buckskin bag that has been well beeswaxed inside.

A ball block of pre-lubed and patched round balls.

I also carrly a small tim of wax/grease type lube for the dry strip. Cleaning patches are torn off that strip as needed, too.

In the above image I have an unlubed 0.015" and 0.018" roll of patching and a small bottle of Moose Juice as a lube & solvent.

when i worked at the local paper mill, the paper dust made my hands really rough (as in cracked and bleeding, especially during the dry winter months). the fellow running another machine turned me on to some locally made hand goop, which is made from pure extra virgin olive oil, and a bunch of all-natural stuff. a bit on the hippie - dippie side, but the stuff works.

i use the tin from that, whcih is a good bit bigger than a cap tin; it holds about a hundred patches.

i do like trench's idea... maybe i'll give that a try...

Stumpkiller, you sure have a nice set of shooting tools there...Thanks for the pics...Scott

I cut 'em into squares. Then I tied an 8" piece of black yarn to the forward strap of my possibles bag, with a loose loop knot. I then thread them on by piercing a corner with a sewing needle kept in my cleaning tin. Works slick!

Sometimes I'll pre-lube them with TOW's mink oil and I'll spread them about 1/8" apart or so. They just hang loose and you will never lose one. Sure makes it handy to just pull one off and go  !
