"Transmission Fluid, Synthetic Motor Oil...."

Surely not these!

While I am not a fan of petroleum based products, most Automatic Transmission Fluid is a synthetic sperm whale oil.

Most natural oils will work and mix well with beeswax to make a semisolid lube. Peanut oil will function just fine as a lube.

I do think I would stay away from crunchy peanut buttter for a bullet lube.

No No we use the peanut oil for frying the catfish and hush puppies not the olive oil. My wife cooks some kind of dish out some cook book with the olive oil, extra virgin. Too late for my gun I done let somebody else shoot it.
Sorry.
I might try that beeswax and peanut oil trick, do I understand that it will make a paste. That might help from me getting all over myself and my labatory,,,,, ah I mean wife's kitchen.

Also I was reading on this box that the peanut oil came in that the smoking temp was rated at 450 degrees.

Now I am thinking that if there is some way for me to cut back on the powder say from 70 grns to maybe 50 grns that the temp. inside the barrel would be lower and there would be less or no smoke would that cause me to be shooting a smokless m/l , just asking. not trying to start anything mind you. :v

I have a large fish fryer and can tell you from experience it starts smoking about one degree above 375 degrees. When it will burn, I dunno. :idunno: Never let it get there. Fish frys best between 350 and 375 degrees.

:rotf: That makes more logical sence then some of the tecnical assumthems I have seen on this site  :rotf: :rotf: :)

Just bumped into this. Made me think oh stop arguing about it because everybody way back when was probably proud to have some hog squeezin's.
