No, except that I do not use cheap Chinese drill bits. I'd recommend name-brand U.S. made bits, of which there are still several makers, and that you check to make sure they are properly ground and sharp before use (they usually are, if of good quality). Check with MSC or one of the other large distributors and get a complete set of letter, number and fractional drill bits up to 1/2" - they will be a good investment in proper tools.

Thanks. We have a pretty awesome homegrown hardware store here, family owned and operated. They are pretty helpful and keep a stock of good tools. Been needing a trip there anyway

I had the same problem with my Pedersoli Bess. :idunno: Had it from 1985 and sold it to a Brit reenactor from Johnstown, PA in 1993.:v I fixed my problem by drilling out to 3/32 and then using a Dremel tool cone bit by hand and shaped the entry to suit me. She fired quit dependably after that. :wink:
