I have a 58 caliber Pedersoli Harpers Ferry Pistol. I refinished the wood and now I love this pistol.

The problem is --- one day the car door closed on the Ramrod.

I bought a new dowl and tried to make my own Ramrod without a lathe (I'm lathe-less) and the results were less than desireable.

I searched and searched on various online sources INCLUDING Dixie and TOTW and can't find a simple completed replacement Ramrod for this pistol. (I put the finish stain on it myself. I just need it to be mechanically finished.)

Any direction here would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of anyone that provided these ramrods. Ramrods are easy to make without a lathe.

So, what part of making the rod are you having trouble with? I'm sure someone here can help you through making that new rod.

Problem: The metal end with threaded hole to screw in cleaning jag/puller etc. That end is NOT true, thus since it is crooked, I can't put it in and out smoothly without it catching up on the pipes.

(Ramrod has a metal end on each side. One end is the threaded end (that is MY problem) and the other end is flared metal and is used to push the ball in when loading. That end is fine.

It seems someone would sell a replacement ramrod.

What size is that ramrod....3/8"? I've got a couple of short pieces laying around, if you would send me the two end pieces, I would fit them on for you. I would need the length of the ramrod. PM or email me if you would like me to do this, or to make other arrangements. Emery

Mazo---thank you for the offer. Really that is much appreciated.

When I got home last night I re-examined the ramrod I built from the broken ramrod parts and saw that the little pin used to hold the metal end on was actually not set in as far as it was on the original and that slight protrusion was causing most of the problems, after I set it in, and trued the metal end piece to the wood it was not hanging up, so, in short I was able to get the ramrod to slide in and out now without hanging up. But again thanks, Mazo, for the offer. I still don't know why you can't just buy one of these from TOTW or Dixie or other Pedersoli distributor/representative.
