Can you tell us about the correct cocks that are availible? I bought a Harpers Ferry Pistol cock from the Rifle Shoppe but found that the the square tumbler hole was not indexed correctly with the tumbler. I'd love to put a correctly styled and indexed cock on my pistol. I think you scored big on getting a correct .54 smooth bore barrel.

I would not be surprised to find the Rifle Shoppe cock was correct and that Pedrosoli and previous manufacturers had machined the square on the tumbler where it was convenient, read cheapest, for them.

I'm still looking into this as an alt. The lower jaw should point at the frizzen screw or just above it (more so just above it).

I'm willing to buy the one you have if you want to get rid of it (hammer that is), the throw of the original hammer is about 1 3/8".

Cleaned off most of the color from the lock, more to do.
