Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket

Hi everyone. What is the opinion of the Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket? Likes, dislikes, correctness, quality all are welcome to say. Just saw a pic of one on their web site and it peaked some curiosoty.

Don't know about PC. And I haven't shot it. But it sure feels nice, looks good and is well made. The browned barrel that goes from octagonal to 16 sides to round is a looker. I like the balance and feel :thumbsup:

There are PC and quality issues. They want a lot of money for a production gun with a number of shortcuts on it. For example, the lock is held on with one bolt--the front bolt is really a wood screw that holds on the sideplate. Fit and finish aren't up to snuff for a gun in this price range, either. For a little more--maybe $75.00--you can get a North Star West gun in the white and have the enjoyment of finishing it yourself. No quality or PC problems to be concerned about, and you can get it in 28, 24, 20 or even 16 gauge if you like. For me it would be a very easy choice. And North Star's customer service is very good, too.

From all the pics and descriptions from people who have handleded them who know guns I think it would be wise to toss in a few more $ and get a gun from N.Starr or one of the other domestic makers, more HC, better quality/service.

Agree...I have completed a north west trade gun from NorthStarWest. This was my first time at such a project...I am completely satisfied with the finish product and the close support I got from Matt (owner of NSW)through emails at every steps of the project. I specially appreciate the quality steel and wood used for their products, these are firearms quality parts not look alike after market.

[11th corps]

I assembled a N/w trade gun from t.o.w. I am very pleased with it. Little more work then just finishing the metal, but do able by almost anyone.
The components with shipping were around $600. I lucked out and got a really nice piece of wood too.
