i just bought one of the new pedersoli P53's from dixie gun works while i was down at friendship. i'll get some pics and more details up soon. it was love at first sight for me.

I got that gun down off the rack and shouldered it. Then I dropped it and bent the barrel. They straightend it and put it back on the rack. LOL
Just kidding. I did shoulder it though and aim it. Did you see the Pedersoli Bess Carbine new in the box that someone on the firing line had for sale for $675? I had to run away to keep from buying it.

that's why i could keep them on paper at 100yrds!

i saw that carbine, if i thought my wife wouldn't shoot me with it, it would have come home too!

i fiddled around with the enfield at friendship with some minis that a british friend of mine gave me. while not the best groups it kept them on paper at 100yrds, i figured that is a good start.

here are some pics.

the only bad thing to report is the factory trigger is a whopping 10.5lbs. fortunatly i was at friendship and i took it right from dixie's booth to the armory. the smith lightened it up by 6 lbs. much, much better now.

How do you figure out how many pounds of pressure it takes to trip a trigger?

You can buy made-for-purpose trigger scales from sources like Brownell's, but any "accurate" spring scale (such as anglers use for weighing fish) will work. Just run a loop of string from the hook on the scale to the trigger and start pulling. I have a Chatillon that's calibrated to a couple of ounces, and I use that. Close enough for my needs, but you can get lots more accurate if you want with a dedicated trigger scale.

i started saving 20bucks a week a year and a half ago when pedersoli announced they had acquired euroarms. i was really, really hoping they would have one at friendship.
