thx for all the opinions. i may have to change my opinion on pedersoli now. i grew up thinking that only uberti made a well-finished piece. this was supported when i bought a pietta dance and bros. revolver last year - the one i received was so rough in the milling and just plain ugly; i've used tire jacks with smoother action than the hunk of junk i got. i'm learning on MLF that most of these guns (revolvers) need a little tweaking.

Some guys like them, I took a trip down to Dixie Gun Works a couple of years ago to look at them, I was thinking of purchasing one of their Jaeger rifles and retiring my custom built Jaeger, and it would be something to play around with.

I handled probably 4-5 Pedersoli's and whatever else they had on the floor and I guess I am just a snob but I could not bring myself to spend the better part of what a good custom gun would cost to buy what was obviously a mass produced, kind of clunky and not well fitted rifle.

I may or may not end up with one someday, but it would have to be a used one at a better price than new.

I've been eyeballing some of the rifles made by pedersoli. I have no experience or even exposure to them. How is the quality of their workmanship? any help appreciated.

I have been very pleased with my Pedersoli Mortimer in flint. The function is excellent. I am very pleased with the wood selection, fit and finish, and exceptionally good accuracy. Jerry

I have a Pedersoli Tryon 54 cal Percussion
Probably shot several thousand rounds. Won lots of matches
Installed a tang and Lyman front

A small crack developed by the tang. I bedded the barrel repaired the crack.
I've had 3 Pedersoli's no issues.
The Tryon is up for sale as I don't use it anymore.

I have one of their c*******e rifles and it is beautiful and shoots like it.

I have a Mississippi rifle that is beautiful as well but I am a little disappointed in the stock, the wood seems a little soft to me.

Im confused. Why are people objecting that Pedersoli guns are factory and serial made when the originals were factory and serial made ? All Pedersoli guns but one I own are good and the one that isn't has cosmetic issues, but still shoots decently.

There is a difference between factory built in 1860 and 2025. More machine tooling and much less hand fitting, final fitting back then was entrusted to the best craftsmen, artists really. Look closely at an original British rifle or an original Colt or Remington revolver and then compare with the modern replica and you’ll see what it means.
