Probably a good thing they didn't have the right dowels. They are not suited for ram rods unless you enjoy having wood run through your hand. Only use split hickory for wooden ram rods.

My wife bought me my first flinter, a .45 Pedersoli Blue Ridge/Frontier. It's a sure sparker and very accurate. We are so lucky to have such wives :thumbsup:
