I somehow got intrigued by those underhammer target pistols, the "Cook" and the "Carlton". Does anyone have one or have any experience with them? I need that like another hole in the head, and they're too expensive - ...but I sort of want one anyway.

Only reason I don't have one is because of the price.

I do like under hammer pistols, but I am not sure they are going to be any more accurate than some of the other line pistols that are available.

Owned what I was told by Cherrys was the 2ed Cook imported. Sold it .Don't like the grip. Handled the Carlton. Grip is for girly tiny hands so I passed...c

I have a Cook Underhammer and like it a lot. Handles well for me and fun to shoot. I can’t say I’m any more accurate with it vs my other target pistols but that’s me. I’m not a competitive shooter. Just shoot for fun against myself.

I too would like to have a Pedersoli Cook pistol...I've examined an example, it's definitely a neat design, but I can see absolutely nothing that justifies the $1,000 price tag for one.

Good point bull's eye - if Uberti and Pietta can make and sell a revolver for around $400 how can a single shot be so much more. There's more parts and more machining in a revolver.
