what kind of gun does orion shoot

From Orion's welcome page:

"Nice forum you have here, I am tired of lurking, can I stay for a while? I am willing to learn anything you are willing to teach me, within reason. Looking for a muzzleloader to call my own, got my eyes on a smoothbore as a first gun, any recommendations?"

Looks like he has nothing to shoot, but that's OK... :winking:

to pay two grand or more for a custom flintlock, so Pedersoli is one of the better choices within their budget. (VBG) [/quote]

First off my frizzen went down range after the 8th shot. took months to get one to fit it.

Second off, making a rifle isnt rocket science. For $7-800 or less you can get all you need to make your own.

It will be a better firearm all around, AND you can say " i made it"

I knew a guy that made a kit on his kitchen table in an 2 bedroom apt. With hand tools. Never made anything in his life.

Aint no excuse not to.

I got the frizzen I needed from Cabelas in a bit over a week, Don't know the cost as there was no invoice included.
When I got my Blue Ridge I thought it was pretty reasonably priced but today I see they are going for $450 and you can get a TVM for $700, with all quality American made parts.
I've had no problems nor complaints with the Blue Ridge in over a dozen years until the frizzen issue. I've also had good results with a couple of their percussion double shotguns. I'd rate Pedersoli way ahead of Traditions or CVA, at least the Blue Ridge is, and I prefer it over T/C, except for T/C's service department, which is tops.
Getting parts from Cabelas can be a bit frustrating as they don't have anyone who really knows guns but they do try. ::

For those that think the Pedersoli is not overpriced, here is a reply i got today from Beuchamps, their American Warranty center. I inquired about a replacement hammer and jaw screw for a Pedersoli rifle i recently purchased. Here is their reply and the cost is rediculous.
WE HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK.#2497 HAMMER $50.00 WILL NEED TO BE POLISHED AND MAYBE SOME
HAND FITTING AT THE HOLE.

Do any of you besides me feel the $50 for an unfinished hammer, and $6 for a jaw screw is a bit too much. This didn't include the top jaw either. And they won't even take a credit card because it isn't a big enough order. Think i will find another source for Pedersoli parts.
