I really like my delrin rods. Some folks here deride them, but they work well, flex instead of break, are softer than the muzzle, take a variety of jags. They come in standard and metric diameters so one can be found to fit one's ramrod thimbles if desired. I use one that is full length for both cleaning and for a range rod of needed. I have a second that I cut to length and matched the diameter to the thimbles of my smoothrifle for more serious "practical" practice on the range.

Someone here in another past topic said they are being made or distributed by someone else now. I can't remember who.
Search for topics on range rods and cleaning rods and you can probably find it.
I have brass and steel rods. I never use them. I did have a caplock rifle with a horrid bore that I needed to keep a T-handled metal rod on hand while shooting. It sometimes needed to have the T hooked to a rafter on the range roof and pull down on the gun to remove a stuck jag and patch.
But other than that, the delrin rods have been great.
