I will carry it as a BUG to my hawkins rifle only, not for serious uses!!
The original .41 Remington Deringer (the actual spelling, regardless of what everyone says :wink load was 13 grains of black and a 130 grain outside lube bullet, the modern smokeless load is weaker. Heard it said the load was more likely to cause death by carrying lint, dirt and assorted crap into the wound and I believe it. The percussion versions only had a 90 grain ball but 15 to 20 grain charges would give much better penetration than the loaded cartridge version. Have shot any number of the cartridge versions over the years and about 80% bounce back to land at your feet!
