Thanks again to all of you for the congrats and wishes. The best thing is, as I was out this afternoon to check the baits I noticed that the bait where the buck was hunted was completely eaten again. So three possibilities:
1. A new roebuck, perhaps a yearling, is there
2. The killed one was not the real old buck of this place, so he is still alive
3. Does arround.

We will see. But the place seems to be good for more.I'll report.

Hey Kirrmeister,
Congrats again!THAT picture will be an old Hunting photo treasure that will last forever.Great job with the Roe.
P.s.....I really like your Treestand! :v

I don't know a lot about them, but did see a bowhunting show last fall where I guy killed one and his wasn't that nice! Way to go!!!!

Wess

Way to go.

Love the dog to, we have two of the wire haired fox terriers, of which both are dominated by a 5 pound yorkie. :winking:

I need to come to Deutschland soon before I become too old to walk through the timberstands and admire this, the birthplace of forest management!

I was stationed in Germany, (56-57) the thing that always amazed me, was how clean the forests were.

That roe reminds me of my first ever deer. A yearling whitetail doe, that ran between the excited shooter and her mother. Needless to say I didn't lead the target enough. I was mortified, but Dad was proud enough. :(

Hi Halftail,

in hunting grounds where only roes ae hunted these stands are most common, because they are easy to move which is necessary aftrer a few years because then the place is so dense with plants and trees that you won't see anything. Best places for roes in the forest are edges of thickings or places where timber harvest was done a year before. There is then many light and the soilplants can grow again, so much feeding for the roes. Outside the forest at the forest edges in the green gras.

Nice pic Kirrmeister! And a nice looking roe buck too! That dog deserves a steak too, for helping you find him.

Are my eyes decieving me, or is that a "traditional" telescopic sight on that traditional muzzle loader??? :winking:

Very nice deer by the way.

What a nice little Roebuck! Congratulations, and good luck on getting another.
