Pietta Sheriff vs Navy

Well, whether it's Pietta or Ruger if they're gonna make up revolver ideas then they get to call them whatever they want to.

Now if only somebody would do a reproduction of the five shot .577 caliber Webley

Wait a minute Colt did make 5 shot 36cal Pocket Navy that looked like a 51 Navy and a Police modal that looked like an 1861 Navy both were built on small 1849 frames with stepped cylinders like the 1860 Colt NMA. They came with 3-6 inch barrels with loading leavers and without. These were sold as an up-sale to Colts best seller the 1849 31 cal Pocket Pistol. The barrels were 3.5" (Pocket Police only), 4.5", 5.5", and 6.5" with load levers.

No, @sourdough is saying that you have a Remington in Navy caliber (36) pistol with a 6 1/2" barrel.

The Sheriff model is a fantasy name applied by some modern manufacturers to pistols with shorter barrels.

When I gave barrel measurements I was speaking about the Colt Pocket Police .36 and the Colt Pocket Navy .36.

It has nothing to do with any Remington models.
