I may regret selling it but here goes. Up for sale is my Shooters model Pietta. It’s truly a .45 caliber, chambers all measure .456 and I shoot .457 Hornady round ball. The bore measures .454 and the rifling is progressive, total rate of twist is 1 in 30. It’s very accurate and will give my best Ruger Old Army a run for its money with 22 grains Swiss fffg, COW to fill the chamber, and the Hornady pill.
The gun was defarbed, action tuned (breaks cleanly at 2.5#) and now has fresh bluing and case hardening on the frame, along with a custom set of Walnut grips. It’s a beautiful revolver and has been fired 120 times since the work was done. Unfortunately I just cannot make the gun fit my paws. Well, I suppose I could pare down the grip and redo the case hardening but it seems easier to sell this one and buy the Longhunter 1860, a gun that fits my hand as it is.
Dixie Gun Works sells this model for $995.00 and the custom work cost in the neighborhood of $500.00. I’m selling for $725.00 shipping included using priority mail insured.
