Thanks fella's:

Seems that my new ticking will be getting a bath.

Thanks, snagg

I noticed you mentioned washing the ticking. Does this make it more pliable? or is there another reason? Just curious as this is the first time I saw that mentioned.

Thanks, snagg

As mentioned above, washed patching takes lube better. I do it for self defence. I spit patch and the sizing they use tastes truly horrible.

What musketman said. I would line dry, but in a condo we have no line. Into the dryer, which DOES make it a trifle less manageable, but I still have enough of the stuff to last beyond my years, likely. Good smoke, ron in Fla

Hang it over or pin it to the shower curtain rod and put the shower vent on to make the air flow, that will simulate a line dry...

In my opinion, 'tis better to line dry the cloth than it is to tumble dry, keeps the cloth flatter with less wrinkles...

I prefer to wash twice, tumble dry, and iron to remove wrinkles.

I think tumble drying shrinks the fabrick making a tighter weave.

Your results may vary.

IRON??? :shocked2:

You mean you can iron cloth??? :shocked2: :shocked2:

"Hey Mrs. Musketman, come in here and read this!!!" :haha:

Just kidding, good tip about shrinking the weave, I presume you use very hot water to aid shrinkage... :hmm:

If ya wanna get technical, last batch I bought from wallmart measured .016, washed a yard of it and tossed it in the dryer, measured again, .018 after ironing. I have used it unwashed and it tastes horrible. Anymore I allways wash it. flinch
