I keep mulling over getting a flintlock pistol. I'd want to carry it while hunting as a backup but I'm not sure how. Where do you put it? Some sort of holtser? Carry it primed? How do you make sure you don't accidently blow off a body part you're really fond of? ::
 
I've used belt hooks on ML pistols for years and have found them perfectly adequate.....no matter how insecure they appear.
