Places to Shoot in Central FL

I am new to the Daytona beach area and I kept my muzzleloader building operation going. Problem... Where to shoot them? Nothing but pesky indoor ranges and god aweful expensive outdoor ranges in my area. Any tips where I can test fire my guns?

It's a drive but you could do the Ocala NF range if planned on a day of it. Take 40 west. It's near Juniper Springs. Look up the particulars here: Link

Probably take you an hour but it's a nice drive.

Yeah- I think Ocala is the closest from Daytona Beach. There is a private range down near Sanford but I think that would be a farther drive. The police station near Tiger Bay WMA (Deland) used to be open but I haven't heard of anyone shooting there in a long time- maybe give them a call.

Strickland range is off of HW 92 on Indian Lake Dr
Very nice County operated range with great range bosses that run a tight ship. $10 to shoot all day but take extra ear protection, that place can get quite loud.
Also the range on HW 40 that BPscout speaks of is not a bad place either, Its free but no range officials so ya gotta keep a eye on others yourself.
Also the Sanford range on Osceola Rd. is a top notch facility but membership is needed, It is open to the public the 1st sun of each month however and they also have longer range targets.
