PM & CM Cavener Builder? Or maybe Cravener?

Any one know about any rifles, flints, Made by PM & CM Cavener or Cravener? This is engraved on the barrel the only makers marks I see on the gun?

If it is a new rifle it could be Phil Cravener from the Latrobe/Greesburg area in Pennsyvania. I've known of Phil for a couple of years and he does really nice work. I do not know of any others by that name.

hey 5card, i left you a post on the other site. just in
case you check here first. phil and his father, who just
passed away (92 years old). live in latrobe, pa.
i met phil about ten years ago and he has taught me the
fine art of engraving and carving. your lucky to have
one of his guns. he is a master engraver and horner-
skrimshaw artist. his work is very collected. and he has
been doing this work for forty years. but has maintaned
a low profile. ask any well known maker, and they will
tell you they heard of him. i'm fortunate to know him
well and learn from him later,

Thanks alot for the info. I spoke with Mr. Cravener. I had a few questions about the rifle. He is indeed a real gentleman. I am planning on getting up to his area this winter and stop and see him.
