brings one of those critters or a opposum into my

ok let me git this clear now :yakyak: ....i see them all the time and was just wondering if they were good to eat or able to be hunted which i found out there not :nono: ....i stop and pick the quills off of road killed ones to use :rotf: ..............bob
 
We call them survival food in Colorado. Don't kill unless you have to. I ate one when I was a kid of 15, it was good but very greasy. Very fat and very dark meat.
To prepare....
Roll him over after you thumped him with a stick of course.
Start skinning from his private parts outward. (No spines down there.) Use a stick to push back the spines if they get in the way.
Gut the critter and start a fire to roast.
Cook with the meat a fair distance from the fire. Lot's of grease will drip and the fire will burn the meat otherwise. A pan works but the grease will literally fill the pan. These guys are really fat.
