I am putting together a new possible bag for my .32 rifle. I bought this old leather purse with the intention of gluing a woven bead design over the flowers stamped in the flap. However, I have since decided I want to attach a red fox mask to the flap. The bottom of the flap goes under a tab,as you can see, so I will only be attaching the fox mask to the flap above the ears on the fox. My question is how would you recommend that I attach the fox to the flap. Glue of some kind? Stitching? Or, something else? I know there are craftsmen on this site with the proper technique. Thanks for any advice.

i like it the way it is,maybe cover the flowers with a beaded rosette but if you are going to add the fox face i would sew it on.either way it's a nice looking bag

Do you have any leather scraps? You could take off the flap and re-attach a plain leather one, then stain/dye the whole bag. The fox face does look good, though; I would stitch it on. Another thing you could do is cut out the stamped design and stitch a wool insert (weeping heart, star, etc) on the back.

I agree with Swampy here .. contact cement & then stitch it! :hmm:
