First off this is my good friends possible purchase. His buddies Dad passed on and he was both affluent and a major collector of firearms. My friend has already bought about a dozen guns of which one was a Spenser and the other a Smiths carbine. From what I have seen so far this collector had all top end condition of what he had, he could afford it. I am not in the same league and have no idea of the value of these pistols, neither does my friend. He wants to offer a fair price for all, but not hurt his investment. I haven't seen them all I have is these photos, any ideas on value Folks?

You're looking at THOUSANDS of dollars! Get a professional appraisal! The SAA's alone are a fortune! I predict several dozen guys will swoop on this photo with offers to buy. Don't sell until you have true info on what's there. You're going to be looking at new Lexuses soon!

I don't have a horse in this race, just want my friend protected, money wise. I'll mention the appraisal suggestion to my friend. I've already researched the Smiths as he wants to shoot it. He also bought a real nice 1886 Winchester in 45-70 among others.

Several nice revolvers are pictured however not nearly enough information to make an accurate "guess-timate".

I have collected Colt SAA's for over 40 years and can tell you a very large percentage of these are not original in various ways. Percussion revolvers do not seem to have as much non-original stuff going on with them.

Accurate price estimates on revolvers like these needs to be done by highly qualified experts who have the revolvers in their hands.

If you post what state and nearest major metropolitan area the owner is in / near perhaps we can recommend a highly qualified expert to provide you and the owner an accurate estimate.

Things changed, my buddy and I bought the Colts. So we do need an honest and accurate appraiser. A total of 12 revolvers we bought, 8 Colts, an 1858 Remington, a Model 2 Smith & Wesson RF, a Starr, and a Rogers & Spencer Army. Today I inspected one, 1860 Army and all numbers matched (wedge also) bore near perfect. It is a 4 screw and one chip on the heel of the wood. Cylinder safety pins almost perfect. The one Navy is a London one. The one without the ram rod is a factory .38RF from what I see. I live in Nassau county, Long ,NY. Me personally bought 6 rifles. Isn't it the right thing to do, spend it before the dirt nap? My Sons are shooters and they might even make a few bucks on what I bought Saturday.

The 1911 flap holsters in the lower left of your first photograph have their own value to the right person.

There are quite a few percussion era Colts for sale at Rock Island Auction’s May 14 2021 auction.

I recommend you take a look at their catalog so you can see some estimates of value.

Thank you all for your reply's. I am taking my time doing the research. Yes Elgatodeacero the auction sites have a lot of info. Looking at past RIA, past auctions show the realized price. I have been busy going though each one and made up a check list for what I see. I have printed up many of those past auctions and am keeping them with my check list. I still have much to learn.
