Sorry, I forgot what to call these in english. Pulverhulsen I think in german. I just made this last night and thought I would share it with you folks. I has some scrap maple about 5"x 1 1/4" and went at it on the wood lathe. The hole is 1/2"x2 5/8" and holds about 130 gr. 2f. I have seen some good sites in the past that had all kinds of info. on these but can't find them since I have a brain cramp about the name. Help! These are fun to make and why heck, I may give up the day job to make them...or maybe not. I do want to make some more of diff. designs though. Any ideas?

Aren't they also sometimes referred to as 'apostles'?

I have heard them labeled as such, but I have also noted the setup of 12 as commonly depicted.

So, would any quantity less or in excess of 12 be called apostles? I do not know.

I'll tell you what...I will make a few different types and get a little production set up and then I can figure price and all that. Having fun and making a bit of money is where it's at. I will get back soon. I have cherry, walnut and other local woods to work with. Bert

Less than twelve you would simply call each one an apostle and just drop the "S". ;-)

I believe I'd happily buy a few of these myself. Looks like you may have the beginnings of a commercial enterprise!

Let us know how to order!

:v Yes they are and when worn for battle the Arquebusiere would often wear Twelve---where basically the name Apostle was taken as in The Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. Kind of a Medieval hint as to the power of the weapon to deal deathly blows.
