I usually avoid these types of discussions, but I feel compelled to contribute to this one. Personally, I love this forum, and I visit this site more than all of the other ones. I do this because the quality of the site is far superior, and I like the fact that there are numerous forum categories to choose from. I have learned a great deal from this site, and I would hate to live without it. I appreciate the work that Claude and the other moderators have done to make this a first rate site. Do I miss the classified ads?...Yes. Am I anxiously awaiting its return?...Yes. Am I willing to wait until Claude feels that the time is right?....Absolutely. After all, it is his site, and he has provided it for our enjoyment free of charge. Who are we to complain because an element is temporarily missing? If someone gave you a free membership to a fitness club, would you complain to the owner because a particular piece of equipment was missing? Or would you feel grateful for the rest of the free equipment that you were able to use while knowing that eventually another quality piece of equipment would arrive for your use. I think we should be appreciative of what we have, and feel fortunate that it will get even better with time. To Claude and all the moderators...THANKS!!!

OK my first powder horn came in today, looks very good from what I see. I am thinking about putting one of those metered brass tips on the end tho.

Hi Ed,

Before you go loading powder in that thing, make sure that it's actually drilled all the way through. I got one of those as a Christmas present last year and immediately loaded it up with FFFg powder using the removeable acorn on the plug end. Went to charge my rifle with it and nothing came out. Further investigation revealed that the hole in the spout wasn't drilled all the way through. By sticking a piece of wire in the spout I could see that any additional drilling would come right out the side and not go into the horn.

Right about then I dropped the horn and broke the stopper. Looked exactly like yours including those little clamps on the strap. I was bummed and just kept using my others.

Why not just create another forum where we could "discuss" trades and/or purchases?
