Can anyone tell me what size drill bit and how deep I need to make a hole that holds 90 grains?
I want to make a few wooden powder measures, the stock I have is 3/4" wood.
Thanks for any ideas and help!

Found this on another site.

In case anyone wants to get a bit ambitious and make one, here are a couple numbers which might aid your endeavor:
When drilling a cylindrical receptacle for measuring the powder, whether it be adjustable or fixed, using a drill of 29/64ths (.453") in diameter, every quarter-inch (.250") will render exactly 10 gr-wgt by volume.
I have not tried this yet

Thanks !!!!
That's exactly what I needed to know.
Now to start working on some carvings to drill holes into.

Although these numbers are excellent, how are going to funnel the powder into the gun when you get done? After I finished mine, I carved a lip into the top and by doing that I had to use wood putty to build up the bottom to maintain the proper charge.

Food for thought. :winking:
