Very nice.

What did you use for stain?

Thanks
William Alexander

Fiebings medium brown leather stain from Tandy. The spirits type, but there may be better stains for antler. I just usually have the leather stains on hand. Here's another measure from a deer leg bone. Not as fancy, but not bad. Holds 50gr. The base is a brass lamp finial

I was looking through my photo's for other measures, and found this. This was my first exercise in spiral decoration, about 1984 or 85. A small Bowie with just a 5" blade. All the silver is nickel silver. On this one, I took great pains at laying the spirals out and filing them in.

I vote for any substitute for measuring volume (salt, cornmeal etc.),but using loose black powder around the shop is dangerous.___Think sparks gang!

For the WIW department, this is the basic way I do spiraling on powder horns. A little time consuming but worth the effort and reward.
