Does black powder get old enough to throw away?
Absolutely! If you have any blackpowder that's over a month old, you MUST get rid of it! The best method of disposal is to securely pack all your cans of powder in a heavy duty cardboard box and mail them to ME! Just out of sheer friendliness, I'll only make you pay for the shipping!
Actually, I believe that if blackpowder is stored in an air-tight container, it should last basically forever. It is true that muskets and rifles from the distant past have been found loaded with BP that would still burn! Any powder that you have now will probably outlive YOU (unless you shoot it all first)!

Muzzie,
i have to agree with the majority unless it is wet damp or otherwise contaminated should last a very long time(i don't want to say forever cause i don't know how long that might be,might be interesting to find out though)
