Precusion Caps Making A Comeback.

I have too many interests. I could stock ahead for some, but I couldn't stock ahead for everything because I didn't own a warehouse, and I wasn't born a trust child. As it stands I was in good stead except for caps. Now I could use a lot of #10 for the revolvers, that is about it. My obscure early cartridge breechloaders, however, are another matter. Brass that can easily be converted for some of them at a reasonable price is a thing of the past. All this is meaningless anyway. The stocking up, the hoarding is a band aid on a sucking chest wound. The hostile and uncalled for gun policies coming into place in America are the problem. Brought on by those who either will neither forgo having children or commit any time to teaching the ones that they have anything of value. IMO

I know what you are saying.......but this has been rearing it's ugly head for years.
My point.......me and millions of others saw that coming years ago, if we put the wrong folks in the WH! That was clearer years ago, but folks walk with their heads down, in the sand, or up where the sun don't shine, and when they finally pick up their head, or pull it out of the sand, or out of their butt, and then they go, "how did this happen"??

I bought some Remington #10 and Nobel 55’s and they seem to shoot fine as well as my #11’s. seems to be more readily available than 11’s. Longer skirt but diameter seems to be same.

I voted correctly for our purposes in every election including this one. I only regret the votes I cast for GW Bush because he didn't deserve them, but it kept Gore out anyway. Okay. I'll come clean. I tried to put together a "think tank" of older patriotic Americans on my other forum. By older, I meant those who could remember a time when visiting CW battlefields and celebrating American history was not a racist statement, trapping for furs was an enjoyable after school activity, you were selective about how you talked to and around your mother because the Old Man MIGHT be within earshot etc. etc. just a small private forum where we could discuss what has gone wrong with the country and maybe come up with an idea or two to try. I approached a member acquaintance or two three or four. The result? Cover your own a**! Make enough money to buy overseas, and be ready to screw everybody and run. No kidding that was it. So next I ordered a copy of the Constitution, started a thread and took the document apart article by article. Every place where Congress has screwed us lately and failed to do their jobs, and there were several, I pointed out with alacrity. That thread got locked.

I believe you and I are on the same side my friend, so there is no sense in us arguing. We need to stand together. I feel we are friends to the end. Everything you have stated above is dead nuts on....period. Now they are screwing us with the CPI(consumer price index). The use it to show a false inflation rate. they claim inflation is at 2%, when in actuality Here is 10+%!! Here is the short list:

• Gas is up 56% since last year.
• Used cars are up 30%.
  Insurance? 17%.
• Laundry? 26%.
• Predators like Uber and Lyft? 11%.
• Restaurants? 4%.
• Pampers and Tampax? Going up 5–9% in September.
• But don’t worry, the Fed’s target inflation is just… wait for it… “2%.”

The back ordered lot are Remington brand though, ordered before Remington went through their recent financial troubles, so we will see if they come through. Not sure but they sure helped me clean up the territory when I was 7 yrs old....took down a lot of outlaws.

There is an unmixed priming compound available now much preferable to any you will get from toy roll caps. The main issue people seem to be having is the dried compound crumbling out in storage. The solution to that I would think should come from the past, a disc of thinnest metallic foil pressed in place over the compound and sealed with a drop of shellac or some other combustible adhesive.

Why not spend 49.95 and buy a cap tool and make your own percussion caps? You can buy prime all or you can also make homemade compound. A tiny amount of aluminum powder makes them really hot. It is time consuming and tedious but it works better than store bought caps. You can easily get ingredients and components to make everything you need to shoot black powder without having to rely on anything or anyone.

If ever it becomes necessary to go to take this next step, I intend to make up a punch and forming die set to go into the RockChucker and get a proper measuring and looking copper/brass cup from sheet material, then make up suitable fixtures to process 100 to a batch. This if the powers that be continue to infringe on my free thinking about what should or should not be available to me. I take to bullying about as well as any other similar American. The stronger the push the more PO'ed I get.
