I am working on an engligh pistol, my first flintlock project. I was bending the trigger guard in a vice to sit nice and flush after I had inleted it...and the bottom inch of the guard snapped. No big deal, I was able to file and reshape it to look like nothing happened, except I have everything inletted except for this last part, is there any way to save the project? I am debating on wether or not I should buy a new blank.

Do you have a small piece of wood that will fit in to the space? You can shape it, then use good wood glue, and press it into the void.
After finishing, only you will know you did it.
Just don't do it on your next one.

If brass you can add more to it by brazing . I have had to braze to triggerguards that broke at screw holes. If you do try it make up a form simlar to what you want it to be and a little bigger so you can shape it. Dilly

My guess it would be cheaper to just by a new trigger guard unless you have something quite fancy.... most of them go for 15 to 20 bucks. No reason to buy a new stock!
