Anybody eat pudding gravy or as it's called ring pudding or liver pudding? I eat it one time a year at deer camp. Spooned over hominy and home made bread with lots of pepper. Not too good for you but suprisingly tasty.

I remember it was really good with a couple over-easy fried eggs. Been a while anyway. Thanks for the memory.

My Grandfather used to have Liver pudding about once a week, but it wasn't at all like a pudding as we think of it today. More like a sausage as I recall. He lived in northern Kentucky.

I've seen liver mush, made w/hog liver and cornmeal/spices, you slice then fry it till brown. tasty stuff.
but don't think it's same thing as you are speaking of. got a recipe?

You buy it at the grocery store and it is sold as ring pudding. Sorry but I can't remember the brand name. Cut the ring (looks like sausage) into small pieces and put into a cast iron skillet. It will melt into a semi-liquid form. Then use flour and water to thicken it up to make a thick gravy kind of mixture. Add pepper and serve spooned over hominy and homemade bread. Some like it with a couple of fried eggs too as mentioned above.

It looks quite disgusting but is very tasty.

never seen it, in Virginia liver mush is called 'scrapple' and here it is sliced about 1/4" and browned, good w/breakfast. comes in 1 lb. blocks of rectangular shape. some folk water it down when cooking and make a gravy of sorts with it but I like it browned. that is why I thought we may have been talking of the same thing. it's quite salty so I avoid it mostly.
